image upload animation

I was just thinking, when i upload large images into osc, especially when the net is grinding a bit it can take a while. It would be nice if i could display an animated gif or so indication it is doing something.

I have been looking at a perl based upload progress bar which looks excellent but i havn't had any luck in integrating it into osc.

Has anyone done anything like this before? or does anyone have any ideas on how it could be done.

I have found this which looks like an excellent upload progress script that uses perl to tap into the raw POST array and return that info back to php.

If anyone has any thoughts on how to integrate it into OSC please let me know. I have been trying for the last few hours with no joy
