Hi,

 

I'm New (ish) to OSC and i have been using Click Cart Pro for some time, and have become extremely fed up with the lack of speed of change and features and the clunky nature of the site and admin area, even though it has been successful i tried OSC out for a bit when look for an e solution my knowledge of perl & PHP was non exsistant, now having stayed up until 4 in the morning peiceing together bits of code in click cart pro, i want to see how far i can take OSC, with some help, and start a new site.

 

Enough of my waffle my questions are:

 

1. Is Easy Populate the only way to import data from existing files ? I tried it when i first used OSC but had problems which were porbably to do with my lack of PHP knowledge at the time!

 

2. Can you modify the database fields to contain artist, title, fomat and release date fields ect.

 

3. Can a customer sort a list of products on the website by any field, eg artist, release date or even most popular ? this is what i really want! CCP makes it so hard.

 

4. Can an advanced search be made to search for artist, title ect i have done this in CCP took me ages to work it out !

 

 

thats enough to be going on with, i'm no hardcore programmer, but have done a little in the past i hope somebody can help as i have had it with CCP !!!!

just a update i have used Easy populate and managed to get it working great, i now know whta i was doing wrong before, i didn't have the catalog/temp folder to 777, i just need to figure out how i get new fields into the data base and to show them up when i make a new product..

There is a contribution which adds extra fields to the database for Artist and Record? (not exactly sure what the second field is called).

yes, found the contribution - Product Extra Fields progrma, looks like a lot of heavy pasteing if code but after, but looks like what i'm after give it a go oday.
