tyrant
Guys I have went through the forums in detail and found that lots of people are asking basic questions about Images but not getting any answers. My question is this: How is it possible to have OSCommerce Generate its own thumbnails for uploaded JPG's but for it to retain the origonal aspect ratio.I ask this because even if i resize all of my images to the specified size it still manages to forget about the magical aspect ratios. If there is a contribution that easily and quickly resolves this please let me know because there are soo many to choose from and its not clear if any of them can do the above, without serious negitive effects on bandwidth :D A Guide on this would be FAB and it would stop folks like me and a few others pestering you pros for help :D Big Kiss for any help Mr T

But this guy can ask a question on images and get an answer in the same day?? tyrant
The real answer to my orginal question was simple. Under Admin / Images... Input a width but no Height. Instead of putting 0 you must leave it blank then suddenly it all works as if by magic :D :-" I now have more technical questions like how to get the login to be a sexy wee box on the banner and stuff :D but i will trawl your forums first :D I must say i dont find php easy to work with at all - and i highly recomend that anyone working on files downloads a free php editor so they dont screw up the files in word pad etc  again thanks for your help Really waht is needed is a couple of sticky posts at the top that cover the basics. How to edit pages How to add new pages and edit navigation How to play with images That would wipe out 60% of the basic requests for help :D

alark
I am hoping that someone in this forum can tell me how to fix the problem I am having with product images. I am building an entire new online store to replace my existing one. On my current store, all the products images that exist in the images folder and in the database show up in the storefront and on the admin side. The problem is that on the new site, none of the images show up. They exist in the images folder and in the database, and when I edit a product is shows the name of the image file, but then claims "File does not exist". I have checked the path to the product image and it is correct. I am at a complete loss as to what could be causing this problem. Please help me! Thanks, Stephen
