DannyS
I am beginning to suspect that Google might be punishing Oscommerce sites because of duplicate paths to the product pages as these trigger a duplicate filter. At the moment we have both a /product_info.php?products_id=n and a /product_info.php?cpath=n&products_id=n path to the same data. I can see an easy way of removing the cpath from the links on the category pages but what I'm looking for is a way to return a 404 error if Google queries with a /product_info.php?cpath=n&products_id=n URL. Even a "Product not found" page might be better but 404 would be the best. Any ideas of where to start?
DannyS
Anyone else being hit hard by the latest Google update? I am looking at two possible causes; the internal product page duplication triggering a filter or a penalty for running the links manager contribution.
