Blowin
Hi all.... I'm having trouble using the file manager in the admin. Whenever I try to open a file, I get the following message: "Internet Explorer cannot download 29e48323048d99fd8bb1381030231 from host106.ipowerweb.com. Internet Explorer was not able to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later." How do I fix this so I can use file manager? tia, Billie :D
kirchenbauer
Don't use the File Manager in Admin. I guess there is something wrong with it.
Wendy James
There are known issues with the fielmanager. Do not use it (even if you can get it to work) for editing pages. Use an FTP program to download the file you need to edit, edit it, then reupload it. This will save you countless headaches. :) Remember to always make a back up... this will save you too. I had my osCommerce store added to my existing website, so what about using the website's File Manager for editing osCommerce store instead of the one in Admin? Will using the one with the website cause problems also? Greta
kgt
If by the "website's File Manager" you mean the File Manager provided by your host (via something like cpanel), then yes, usually they are safe to use. Yes, that is what I mean, the File Manager I have had for my website for years, provided by my host, before having the osCommerce Store installed on my website. I am very, very technically challenged and don't want to have to go through having to figure out how to download the file I want to edit, choosing an FTP program and trying to figure that out, then re-uploading.
