I have switched servers and need to transfer the catalog from old to new,

copied catalog folder to new server, but its still trying to access the database from the old host.

Please help me, this is supposed to be up tonight. Thank you for taking the time.

this is what I get:

Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user: 'septimar_p_os1@localhost' (Using password: YES) in /home/fullthro/public_html/osCommerce/catalog/includes/functions/database.php on line 19

Unable to connect to database server!

You say you have copied the catalog folder from the old host to the new - but did you take a backup of your old database, create a blank new one with your new host and then import your backup into it via phpMyAdmin?

Also, has your domain been repointed to the new name servers long enough for the various registrars and ISP's to update their records? It can take several days for .com .net and .org domains to show up at new dns addresses.

I have the domain pointing to the new servername it has been a day and a half since I switched. I figured since I could ftp it was ready.

I did not copy the database, I am fairly new to mySQL but will try to

get it done. Any tips on this will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You so much.

If you can access the 'admin' for the old site then go to Tools --> Backups, select Backup and then tick the box that says 'Download' and download the backup to your computer.

Go to your new web hosting control panel and access phpMyAdmin, locate the new blank database for your new site (or create one if you haven't done so), click on the SQL tab, then use Browse to locate the backup you downloaded, then click 'Go' and the backup will be installed into the blank database.

Don't forget that you'll also have to edit the two configure.php files.
