Gift Card Option with custome text

I would need an option where a customer can select if they want a gift wrap with a custome gift card, they need to be able to write there own text for the card, please let me know if there is any contribution or something in that direction out there, thanks alot

I added two new options for this, check out the painted4kids site from my profile. The text is added in the general comments box ... no contrib and fast too! customers can even select between different wrapping paper.

wow thats great, so you basicly write the giftcard wording in the comments box.

 

please could i know what the code is that u used, would be great. so i can add it to my shopping cart. and does the comment box always show up or only if i select the own wording.

there is no extra code used ... the optins and option values are added in the admin/catalog area in attributes manager, and I only changed the heading of the general comments box to say specify text here. it's a good idea to add the info to an FAQ page too.

 

the comments field is by default in the order email, so if you are getting those you should be set.

go to admin - > catalog

 

the re you will see a link to attributes in the catalog box. click on it

 

if you have never used attributes before, this will be new for you ...

 

the attributes page is in 3 parts ... option, option value and then the option value tied to a product
