Jack_mcs
Frontpage is a tool used to develop web sites. Oscommerce is a web site. You cannot use FrontPage to devlelope an oscommerce site though since they are not compatibile. But more importantly, oscommerce is a shopping cart type of site. It allows you to add products to your site and has the code in place for your customers to order those products. genxian
thank you very much...would you explain to me how to download Oscommerce..can use it on MS windows..i tried to download but cant open it? Elizabeth osCommerce must be installed on a web server. You can download the Apache webserver for your windows machine and run osCommerce locally, but there is not much a point in doing this. People that use osCommerce use it to sell products. They usually have a web hosting account with an web hosting company. This company will install osCommerce sometimes, or optionally the person using osCommerce will upload all of the files to his/her web hosting account, and run the install script. Then when people visit the domain name associated with the hosting account running osCommerce the osCommerce website is loaded. The osCommerce website can be configured to look differently, sell any items under the blue moon etc. If you just want to develope a personal website osCommerce is not what you are looking for. If you are looking at opening an eCommerce store to sell things on the internet osCommerce is wonderful. If you do not have any experience using web servers you should probably hire someone to help you setup your shopping cart website.
