cimage
Hi I can?t make it work in my OSCmax 1.7v. I posted this on oscdox but did not get any response. I am hoping help from this forum. Can?t figure out what is wrong ? I have followed the naming convention and the image files are FTPed in the images/thumb & images/images_big directory. My main thumb image is under main image directory and it shows up on ?display page? and pop-up comes with the same image. I have gone through detailed explanation by Clifton Murphy on the subject. (http://oscdox.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=2180&highlight=dynamic+mo+pic ) What I did notice was as per Clifton?s guide ?in admin when you create a product, on the portion where you either type in or click browse to upload the image, DO NOT CLICK UPLOAD. instead type into this field thumbs/xxx.xxx Click preview and then insert ? When I click preview, the screen freezes and doesn?t let me click ?insert?. All help welcome & thanks.

It seems you have a default setup, like mine, and the part from Clifton's guide is definitely not the way it works with osCommerce and the default setup. You have a big_image directory where all full blown pictures reside, you have a thumb directory where all thumb images EXCEPT THE MAIN IMAGE thumb goes if you have choosen to have the main thumb image in your default image directory (as you did also). In that case the only thing you should have to do with your product definition is to choose the main image thumb without typing any path or something before the image name and that should be it. The rest is FTP'ed by yourself. I think Clifton's guide refers to a setup where you want to have all your thumbs in the thumb directory. cimage
Hi Howard, Thanks for responding. oscMax is oscommerce bundled with main contributions. I have relied on contributor's instructions and hence I have different dir for both thumbnails and big pictures. Like I said the naming convention is followed as well. All pic are FTPed to respective directories. I can only think of corrupt sql nothing else strikes me.

An images/thumbs directory, an images/images_big directory and the default images directory for the main thumbs. With this setup you must not use a directory name before your picture name when going through your product definition. The only thing you have to watch for is that you pick the main thumb picture and not by accident the main large picture. It works that way with default osC and if oscMax is not different, except for a lot of loaded contribs, it should be the same (unless they changed the default upload behaviour for oscMax). I tried both i.e. using thumbnail from main dir and then from image/thumbs it doesn't work. Yes when I add thumbnail from main dir I not only get the image on product page but popup too shows the same thumbnail. Thanks for your interest. I am afraid I can't tell you anymore and it sounds like oscMax does change more as only adding a couple of default contribs. What you should check is if the thumb image shows correct in your product info page but the popup also shows the thumb where the image is taken from in your popup (should be images/images_big/). If it doesn't do that your admin setup for dyn.mopics might be wrong afterall or oscMax handles the overall configuration settings differently from standard osC in which case you will have a tough job to adept dyn.mopic to that if you still want to use it. cimage
To the best of my knowledge, oscMAX is not modified. Howard I guess I need to experiment more. Thanks for your effort and have a nice weekend.

Thanks for your effort and have a nice weekend. Same to you rt ! A pitty I can't have a look on your system, might be something small. Hope you will find it though, it's a contribution well worth the effort.
