janice171 Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 hi, just wondering how i test paypal through the oscommerce site. paypal is the only method of payment on my site at the moment. i have just created a paypal business account and a sandbox account...so can anyone tell me what else i need to do. the paypal site is not very clear. do i NEED to be verified? what else do i need to know or do before going live? thanks janice
Jack_mcs Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 You need to setup the sandbox account like you would a real account. Then you set the PayPal module to use the sandbox (testing) and try placing an order. It should work as normal except no money is transferred. I think using sandbox is overkill for one account though. I suggest just place it in live mode, adding a test product and have someone place an order. You can cancel the order so there is no loss there. Much quicker and easier than using sandbox. You need to tell which contribution you are using. As some contribution allow changing URL thru Admin. The other option is open the payment module page and check $this->URL and change the value to sandsox Hope that helps. Satish The paypal is the standard installed option, I haven't used any contribution. I will try your 'sandsox' suggestion. (I presume you do mean sandsox not sandbox)

You should install the oscommerce_paypal_ipn contribution and go from there.
