Before I go live and move it over to my storefront, I would really appreciate it if I could get your opinion of the site. Feel free to stress test and place test orders as much as you like. There are many modified aspects of the site which may interest you, feel free to contact me for more information. Thanks a million, I value your opinions immensly!

Chance Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Great site design, and I like the select your make/model/year filter. Probably one of the best aftermarket parts sites I have seen on here along with Dan's Modyourcar.com or whatever it was. Fact: Wrong. Most shops have no idea what air intakes and flow masters are. You are either going to walk away just as confused as the mechanic was when you showed them the part you wanted installed. Call around until you get someone on the phone that is knowledgeable and gives the best price. At the same time, don't just go for cheap you will most likely regret it. Flow Master is a proper noun- it's a name brand. "You are either going to walk away just as confused as the mechanic was when you showed them the part you wanted installed." is a poor sentence from a gramatical standpoint. You should have someone proofread your articles. On a side note, this paragraph may mislead your customers. Fact: We recommend you read your personal vehicle's warranty but normally when a part has to be replaced, any original warranty on that part lapses. The warranty on the rest of the vehicle is unaffected. After the replacement part is installed, the new warranty takes over. Warranties on most aftermarket parts are as good as OEM warranties. Furthermore, federal law prohibits manufacturers from basing warranties upon the exclusive use of OEM parts. Using OEM replacement parts are cool, using performance parts in most cases are not. Federal law does protect against implied warranties, but does nothing to protect against explicit disclaimers of coverage. In fact, most dealerships will not perform warranty work on cars that have been upgraded with non-standard performance parts. Ask any BMW owner- if it ain't BMW's own approve Dinan brand, it voids the powertrain warranty. Thats why they charge a permium for Dinan parts :) Its no big deal, but you might want to rephrase it since your site sells performance parts- wouldn't want to get sued. By posting articles, you move yourself out of a vendor slot and more into an authority slot, and with it comes a few more consequences. My advice comes in two flavors- Pick the one that won't offend you. Hard and Cynical: How to Make a Horrible osCommerce Site Warm and Fuzzy: How to Make an Awesome osCommerce Site
