hack4lk
Hello everybody, does anyone know an easy or semieasy way to transfer an oscommerce installation from one website to another after it has been configured and database has been populated? How many files need to be changed? Any help would be greatly appreciated since this site is due in 10 days...thanks again for any response. <_<
mansoor2000
Hello everybody, does anyone know an easy or semieasy way to transfer an oscommerce installation from one website to another after it has been configured and database has been populated? How many files need to be changed? Any help would be greatly appreciated since this site is due in 10 days...thanks again for any response. <_< I have not tried moving the actual files from one site to another. What I did was this - backup DB in Admin ->tools ->Database backup. - Reinstall osCommerce on new website - restore back up Site was up in one hour. After the re-install and restotre. I checked to make sure every thing was ok. I took another DB backup on new site. Ihave some contributions installed on the old site. I moved the modified files in the new site in their original folder. I had to make some minor changes i.e. file paths and username/pw in the contribution files. Every thing is working ok. Hope this helps.
zeroeighteen
Aside from the database transfer, the files you need to change are: /includes/configure.php /admin/includes/configure.php remember to change EVERYTHING that has been changed, not just the username/pass for the database.
