mydoggie Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 I'm over this shipping thing. It's just not working for me. I'm trying to use USPS and when I put one item in my cart, it calculates correctly. When I have 2 or more, the weight shows 0.1 lbs which is incorrect and then the shipping rate is completely off. I checked my items to make sure there was a weight in there and there was. I've learned that the shopping cart weight default is 3 pounds so anything less then 3 pounds, I minused off. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. I'm not going to have any hair left because I'm pulling it out!!!!!!!!!!!! <_< Quote
dynamoeffects Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Does this only happen with just the USPS module, or every shipping module? Quote Please use the forums for support! I am happy to help you here, but I am unable to offer free technical support over instant messenger or e-mail.

If that is lbs then you have to setup your products like ie. weight = 1 for 1 lbs, weight=0.5 for a halve a lbs etc. Your shipping table should obey to that setup so if you say 1:5,2:8,5:10,20:20 it means up to 1 lbs costs $5, from 1 to 2 lbs costs $8 etc. If they use grams or kilograms it is nothing different, just make sure your table is in appliance with what you define with your products. Another thing is that the shopping cart doesn't have to have any set weight like 3 pounds. If you look in your Admin->Configuration->Shipping/Packaging you can set the Package Tare weight to 0 and your base is always zero. Be careful with your hair ! regards, Howard Quote

And where to find shipping table? WKD2 Quote

And where to find shipping table? WKD2 Look in your admin->modules->shipping for which shipping methods you have installed and you will also see the shipping table if it applies for your installed shipping modules. Also do check your admin->configuraton->shipping/packaging settings as based upon those settings you might get different results as you want/expected. Quote
Hereiam Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 (edited) One of our product has a shipping weight of 10 lbs, according to the database. However, when I try to check out, the weight is increased to 17 lbs. on the checkout_confirmation.php. Obviously, this also appears on the receipt as well. Please help me out to do something on this. Thank you in advance. Edited October 14, 2005 by Hereiam Quote

DonnaNJ Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Take a look at your admin->configuration->shipping/packaging and check if your setting for 'Tare weight' and 'Large packages - percentage increase' are more then 0 If resetting the tare weight doesn't help...look at the bug reports. A bunch of us on IPOWERWEB - found there is a problem with their installation and shipping being rounded. I think a work around was posted there.
