jjackson Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 I've searched High and Low for specific information about affiliate contributions and haven't been able to find anything. I own and operate an oscommerce powered medical supplies website and have several sales reps around the country. My reps get a percentage of the profits for customers that they refer to the site that make purchases. The reps don't have their own website, they have business cards with my website on it and just hand out these cards to prospective customers. I've tried adding the salespeoples names to the customer sign up page but have found that most customers just randomly select a salesrep from the list, preventing the true referring salesrep from getting the credit. Is there a way that I can better setup this affiliate program so that my reps get their due credit. I'm not currently using any of the affiliate contribs as they don't directly suit my needs. thanks in advance.
nana Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 if you make a little site for each rep they can put that address on their card this could be a little info page about them.then put a link in this page to your site passing the affiliate_id or if you have a first time buyer promo use that info and have a diffrent# to each sales rep so when the customer puts his coupon code you know what salesperson he has

I have done this and it works great.
