Hi,

Paypal is the only payment method at my online shop.

Normally, Customer shop at my online shop -then pay at paypal - after the successful payment customer auto return at my shop again-then I get the order.

Yesterday I had an strange problem.

I got an order at my shop but there was no payment from that customer at my Paypal's account.

I am confused how can the customer placed the order at my shop without successful payment at paypal.

I am in need of your help guys!!

Thanks in advance

Kind regards

Hi, at checkout, osCommerce directs the customer to the paypal site where they are prompted to either log in/create an account/proceed with credit card payment.

If they don't continue on at the paypal stage, i.e. close their browser, the sale will still register in oscommerce admin (usually as pending). If you are sure the customer won't complete the order, you can just delete their order yourself in admin.

Kind Regards,

Hi Peter,

Thank you very much for your reply.

I know you are right for Paypal IPN module. At paypal IPN , it will show pending or IPN .

But I am using normal Paypal module. At this module , if the payment is unsuccessful , order will not show at admin.

That's why I am confused how I got the order without successful payment.

Kind Regards

I had the same problem. A customer made the payment in fact they ordered 4 items in two separate orders, so I am sure they ordered. I will be checking your question to see what answers you get. I have posted another question. It seems that no one knows the answer.

The only time I have seen this happening is when either:

1. The site owner was using an e-mail address on their website's Pay Pal module which wasn't the one they had registered with Pay Pal for their account. The payment is made but it's not showing in your Pay Pal account because it was made to a different e-mail address.

2. The standard Pay Pal module does not encrypt data. It is possible for hackers to change the amount in the cart before going to Pay Pal - but in this instance it still has to be a small amount of money, because Pay Pal doesn't accept payments which don't have a value.

As I mentioned before, I had the same problem. I found that I had the CC module turned on. In the payment preferences page the user click credit card and not paypal. So, I received the order but it was not posted in paypal because they did not use paypal. As a result I had to manually post the payment in paypal. Is it possible you have your credit card module turned on? do a mock checkout and look at the payment page to see if the "credit card" choice is there.

Hi Vger,

The problem has occured again . Yesterday I had six orders at my store .But I got only five payments at my paypal's account.

However, I am using the same email address that I had registered with paypal.

Paypal is the only payment module at my shop.

I am not sure why this problem is occuring !!

I would be grateful if anybody could suggest me how to solve this problem.

Thanks in advance.

I am sorry if this is a stupid reply. You have stated that you are sure that Paypal is the only method of payment. However, what is the method of payment shown for the payment that did not show up? Does it say method of payment is Paypal? Can we see your site so that we can see the payment page?

Have you got your PayPal account set to accept the same currencies as your website?

Hi Vger,

I am based in UK. Pound (?) is the only currency at my store.

At my Paypal's Payment Receiving Preferences,

Block payments sent to me in a currency I do not hold:

"Yes" has been selected.
