Payment methods

I currently have 2 payment methods on my web site, credit cards and cheque/postal orders. I would like to add paypal as a payment method but:::

 

When i run a test having completed the payment on the paypal page it does not bring me back to my site and does not log there order all i get is an email from paypal for a mysterious payment.

 

What i would like to do is be able to activate the paypal method of payment but: instead of going through to paypal it treats the payment like it does when they pay by cheque, so i need to be able to change what happens when they check the paypal bullit and be able to write a foot note under the words paypal to advise them to write there account address in the comments box below.

 

I have looked but cannot find where to do this.

 

If this cannot be done i could just alter where it says cheque/postal order and the wording below but i cannot find this either.

 

Please help.

Being a bit of a novice how do i do that and what will that do

I already have paypal installed in the payment modules, and it does take you through to the payment section of paypal when you are placing an order,

 

but when you click "return to merchant" after making the payment thats where it all falls down.

 

It takes you firstly back to the log in page , then when you are re-logged in it takes you to the delivery info pay restarting the payment process all over again, it also does not empty your basket and neither puts the order through. It basically treats it as nothing has happened.

 

So the problem lies after you have gone to paypal and what happens when you return to merchant.

 

Is there a solution

On the paypal site go to your account and I think it is payment methods or something to that effect there is an option to redirect back to your site after payment. You just type in your url in the box. Type the directory as such public_html (or equivilent)/checkout_process.php. That should take care of customers returning and their orders being logged. Hope that helps.
