Backup help

Recommended Posts

I get an error message in the administration area of my site stating "Error: Backup directory does not exist. Please set this in configure.php".

I do not know what text to enter and where in the file.

Please can someone point me in the right direction.

Many thanks.

Actually you don't touch configure.php. That error message can lead you astray and is not helpful.

What you actually need to do is to create a folder called 'backups (not 'backup') inside your admin folder, and make sure that it has full permissions (777).

I created a "backups" directory in the admin folder and changed the permissions, but I still get the error message. What do I do now?

Thanks,

This might not help. But when I changed my permissions they didn't actually change the first time that I did it. I thought i had changed them. Maybe make sure they show 777 for sure. And the s on the end was a big issue for me also.
