thessrtech Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Well I'm checking the chmod and i've set to both 777 and 706 and retry'd multiple times and it doesent work still. I've even tried to install it over again. Any ideas?
♥Vger Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 The chmod command only works via FTP if your site is hosted on an Apache server using a Unix or Linux based operating system. If your site is on any other type of server then you'll need to use the File Manager in your web hosting control panel to reset permissions. Vger

Vger Ok i went on to my server and reset the permissions manually and retry'd and retry'd on both 706 and 777 and same error is occuring? http://addictiveracing.com/install/install.php?step=7
♥Vger Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Well, posting that link doesn't help, because anyone else accessing it gets the first install screen. I'm assuming that the error you are getting relates to "touch 706", in which case the install is not able to write to the configure.php files. This happens most often on a Windows server, or any server which has not been set up with the correct user permissions. Probably the only thing you can do to complete the install is to manually set up the two configure.php files. Vger

♥Vger Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 If you look through the posts in this forum for today you will find examples of what the configure.php files should look like. You can also do a search of these forums for examples. If you are able to run the install then: Do not check the box to enable ssl unless you have a full ssl cert. Untick the box to use Persistent Connections. Tick the box to store sessions in the database and not in files. Vger
