Guest
Hi there, i have strange thing in OSCommerce. I added a product, with a price. My Tax is 15% and I only have this taxable Goods Tax, nothing more. When I go to preview, all prices are shown correctly, but when you go to the shop the price is to high. What can this be, I am looking since a couple of days to find the solution but I really don't have a clou what this could be. Thanks for all answer MSNetworks

kirchenbauer
Can you give an example, like what the price should be on your website and what the price is on your website? Do you have your site set up to show prices with tax or with just the price of the product?

Do you have your site set up to show prices with tax or with just the price of the product? Hello, thanks for the fast answer. The example is, I have a Product for 49,00? with tax (15% in Luxembourg) it should be 56,35? this is all correct in the preview of the admin area, but in the shop it shows 59.35? I setup to show the price with tax. Best regards MSNetworks maybe set something wrong in the tax section of osc? check if you have double entries, and if not check your database for double entries ... seen that before, not in admin but hidden in the database! Hello, thanks for the fast reply, i really appreciate. Where can I find the double entry's in the DB? I will check this. I cannot see any double entries in the OSC. kirchenbauer
From what you posted, it seems like your tax class that is set up in "Tax Classes" does not match what you have in the "Tax Rates". But, I might be having trouble because of the two different languages. Here is what my settings look like. I am in Ohio in the USA.

Hello, thank you for your reply, unfortunately those settings are like I configured my OSC, just with luxembourg Taxes. I deleted all other Taxzones to avoid, errors. 241
You are saying preview in admin, this would be in the catalog section of admin where you are adding the product. The difference that you see may be due to shipping weight caused by the package tare weight being set to 3 in admin for shipping and packaging Package Tare weight. 3 Larger packages - percentage increase. 10 No longer giving free advice. kirchenbauer
Oh, I think you are exactly right. That makes sense. I didn't think of that. In the USA, we don't have tax on the weight/tare.

After changing those settings, the Price in the catalog section of the admin was also wrong. It indicates now the same price as displayed in the shop section. This showed me that the problem shall be elsewhere. I checked the Currency value in the admin area. And I remembered that I changed the value to the actual US Dollar / ? rate. Which, I think, was an error. Do you know the original OSC currency value? Thanks to all for the fantastic help. Best regards MSNetworks
