maxhodges Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 I'm frustrated with my present shopping cart, so I'm thinking to switch to osCommerce. I see there is a version 2.2 M2 on the site, but there is also a long list of bugs in the bug report for this version, which is not very encouraging. Is there a stable version I should install instead? If so, why isn't it on the download page? Also this site mentions that these milestone versions "are not maintained." does that mean no one fixes the bugs? Also I don't see updates for people running prior versions. Is reinstalling everything the only way to upgrade? Seems like these questions should be in some FAQ; is there one? Thank you very much for your information! Max
♥Vger Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 osCommerce 2.2 MS2 is the stable version of osCommerce. Most of the so-called 'bug reports' are posted by first time users who think that their inability to install osCommerce is the result of a 'bug' rather than a failure to read the install instructions. There will shortly be a patch file issued for such minor issues as do exist in osCommerce 2.2 MS2 - none of which prevent it fully functioning. Vger
Thad Castillo Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Is there a way I can find out what has changed since version 2.1? It has been a while since I have even looked at our cart. Which was dowloaded and installed July 2003. Thanks.
♥Vger Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 You can download the osCommerce 2.2 MS2 zip file from downloads at www.oscommerce.com. Vger
