AllThingsTrendy
I hope someone can help me. I have no idea what all of this means. I was encountering ERROR 500s on the admin side. The user side was slow but I did not see the same errors (that seems odd in itself). I contacted my server admin... the issue was handed over to their "Abuse Team" and they have treatened to take action (don't know what that means). Below is their response to the issue. Slap me, spank me or whatever... but, God forbid, please don't let them take down my site. Signed, Deperate Dave ---------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, The 500 Server Error and the slow performance of the server were due to the fact that your account has hit the limit of the CPU and memory usage allocated for your user. This caused a high load on the server that is hosting your account. The high load caused by your scripts affected the proper operation of the server and the performance of the sites of the rest of the users on this machine. We advise that you optimize your scripts to avoid such issues in the future. If you are using third party applications, please upgrade them to the latest version. In case the high load on the server increases again due to a script on your account, we will be forced to impose more aggressive limits towards your user account. Thank you. user99999999
It means your hosting company has overloaded your server with to many users and it is no longer of any use for your application. Find a new hosting company and get one that uses mod php thats Apache/PHP compiled together instead of php cgi which is Apache calls the external php program. AllThingsTrendy
It means your hosting company has overloaded your server with to many users and it is no longer of any use for your application. Find a new hosting company and get one that uses mod php thats Apache/PHP compiled together instead of php cgi which is Apache calls the external php program. Thanks! Another member sent an IM recommending the same. My hosting company is now theorizing that this occurred due to a massive number of bots hitting my site all at once. I have to say, I am suprised at the number of bots that regularly visit my site. But, I've never seen more than 7 or 8 at once. This hosting company has always been GREAT! And, they are the ones that directed me to OSC when I needed a shopping cart solution. However, I trust the input from you (i've read many of your other posts). Is there a host you suggest? I'm pretty new at this. Is it as simple as FTPing my site to the new host once my domain is moved? Thank again, David Anthony David AllThingsTrendy.com
