serious picture uploading problem

We have a very odd and really annoying problem, when we upload a new picture it isn't being placed on the right product, in fact all the pics today are going all over the place, overwriting the other older product images, nothing has changed on the site coding in weeks and this has never happened before, what is causing it??

 

Any and all help greatly appreciated.

I might be wrong but you probbley upload the same image name to the directory of the images causing

it to overwright it .

 

Lets say you have the product that has an imaged linked to it called 1.jpg .

if you will upload another image with the same name 1.jpg even if its for a diffrent product it will overwrite

it because it upload the image to the same directory .

Yeah thanks, i just came back to say that's what it was, i never even considered it, just figured the prgram renamed the files as you did it, dunno why, just that seemed more logical. i went into the database to fix the wrong images and noticed the file names, doh!!!!
