johnnyriss Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Greetings, I'm trying to build a new store/site using osCommerce for a company that already has a site. Therefore, I don't want to change the original nameservers until the new osCommerce site is built. However, when I installed osCommerce using Fantastico, I had to specify a domain. I did ? the original domain. But now, everytime I click anything in the admin area, it automatically puts the domain in the url rather than the temporary IP address I'm using until the site is built and I change the dns. And I get an 404 error. Make sense? I can eventually get to where I need to go. When on the error page, I delete the domain from the url and replace it with the new IP address. BUT I don't know where to change the "Base href" or the domain that osCommerce keeps referring back to. (This probably makes no sense at all.) Anybody understand what I'm trying to say and can direct me to where I can change the "base href" or the default domain that osCommerce uses?
♥Vger Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 includes/configure.php admin/includes/configure.php edit both to use the temporary address and not the domain. Vger
♥Vger Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Almost correct. Leave the https_catalog_server blank and set enable_ssl to false. Also leave the https_cookie_domain blank. Vger
johnnyriss Posted October 7, 2005 Author Posted October 7, 2005 Almost correct. Leave the https_catalog_server blank and set enable_ssl to false. Also leave the https_cookie_domain blank. Vger Thanks. Then, once I change the DNS of my original domain, I can just re-upload the original files. Yes? Thanks. Also, I just wanted to thank you for all the info from a post I made last week. Because of your advice regarding the instability of php4.3.2 or something like that, I found a new host. And, so far, I'm really happy with them. Thanks.
