Hello everyone willing to help a newbie.

I have read though everyones posts, on how to set the right user permissions and I can not find in the file manager where to do this and I have downloaded the crimson editor and was able to copy the text and paste it in the editor and change everything but can not upload it because of the right user permissions,

need to change logo and the front page and make it so when so purchases a item it wil process. any help for all of these items would be great as well.

Any help on anything that you had problems with that I run in to when making this work would be cool.

Thanks James

The 'File Manager' referred to should be a link within your web hosting control panel - not your osCommerce admin panel.

If your site is on an Apache web server with a Unix or Linux operating system then you can also use the chmod function. FTP to your website, locate the file and right-click on it, and follow the listings you get until you find the CHMOD (Unix) listing and click on that. With some FTP programmes you right click on the file and just select 'Properties'. You will then be able to set permissions. This function only works on Apache web servers - not Windows.
