pdumpert Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 I have a client who has been having a problem with payflow link - her customers were trying to check out 3 or four times before giving up. When we tested it we found that: 1. There was no problem with firefox 2. My version of IE had no problems 3. My partner's IE got a "Cannot find server or DNS error" when she used IE and the cart sent her to the verisign site (yes, the new one https://payments.verisign.com/payflowlink) After much gnashing of teeth, we discovered that my IE was running 128 bit encryption and my parter was at 56 bit. When we upgraded to 128 it worked. Has anyone else had this problem? Has anyone else gotten the "DNS error" with a different cause? I do not look forward to explaining this one to my client. Quote
pdumpert Posted October 10, 2005 Author Posted October 10, 2005 When I talked to Verisign, they first denied that there was a problem with encription levels. It was only when I explained my evidence that the clod on the phone asked a technical person, who finally admitted that using weaker encryption would cause a problem. Just thought everyone should be aware - weak encryption will cause payflow link to fail. Quote
Guest Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 128 bit encryption is one of the first things to check on a browser, not much you can do about end user browsers. ssl certs are 128 bit, and if end user browser does not support that, not much you can do Quote
