jwnacnud
Does anyone have any experience setting up OSC with authorize.net to preauthorize the credit card payment and then charge when the item ships instead of charging the whole order at once. Currently, if a customer orders 2 items, they are charged for both items even if only one of them ships (backorders). I don't like when websites do this to me, I'd like to not do it to my customers. please help: JEffrey Duncan email address removed by Mibble Edited October 6, 2005 by Mibble
zboyblue
I want to do this exact same thing. Is there a conribution or someone that could "whip" one up that would take the credit card info (I dont really even want it authorized when entered, I want the order finalized, I can call them if there is a problem with the card), store it in the database as the normal cc module does and then have a button or something in the order screen where you can click "Process card with Auth.Net". and bam, its charged and end of story. Like most people that I have read about on here, I would like to be able to review the order, make sure I have everything they ordered and have the chance to make changes to the order before it is processed. For instance, the customer enters the order and then 2 minutes later emails and says "You know what, I really need to upgrade the shipping on this order" or "Can you add one more of X to the order" or if we are out of something that we will never have again, etc it is necessary to modify the order before charging the card. Obviously the card could be charged and you could issue a refund or another partial charge but thats too much accounting. : ) Can anyone make something like this for us that need it without too much trouble? Thanks!!! Craig
vinueladan
I am trying to do the same thing. We can't be the only ones that would like to pre-authorize a purchase using Authorize.net Even if I would have to manually go to the Authorize.net site to capture the funds afterwards. I noticed the PSIgate and even the WorldPay contribution has the option to set the options to Pre-Auth or Live Authorization. Any help would be greatly appreciated by many people I'm sure. Thanks in advance.

jdfitch
If I have what your asking right. You only want Authorize.net module to Authorize the card but not capture the funds, So that you can later (I do it after Fed Ex picks up packages everyday) and then capture the funds in the Authorize.net Virtual Terminal. If that is the case: Open up your oscommerce admin panel Modules>Payment Select the Authorize.net module then select Edit look for the Processing Mode (under Accepted Credit Cards check boxes) Select the Authorize Only Radio Button then click on Update at the bottom. If this is not what your looking for I am sorry. mcoers
MINE DOESNT HAVE PROCESSING MODEDO I HAVE AN OLD VERSION what authorize.net module has the most options? Mine does not have a processing code either. If anyone has a work around on this, I would be very grateful. It appears that a number of us have the same need. In fact, anyone who is observing credit card laws will have this same issue if they are shipping products. You simply are not supposed to capture payment until the product has shipped. TIA >Matt

Enzo_UK
Currently, if a customer orders 2 items, they are charged for both items even if only one of them ships (backorders). I don't like when websites do this to me, I'd like to not do it to my customers. Surely the only way it can then do this is to split it into two seperate payments, which will then incur two lots of fees.... Which is not too much of a problem if they pay by credit cards, as these are usually charged as a %, but with debit cards they often have a fixed fee per transaction, so rather than just paying one lot of 20p, you will end up getting charged twice. In fact, anyone who is observing credit card laws will have this same issue if they are shipping products. You simply are not supposed to capture payment until the product has shipped.Maybe in some states or coutries, but dont think this applies to the UK.
