Main New Products table displays when there are no products!

Is it just me or does it usually happen that when a category doesn't have any products, the new products table heading shows up but obviously without any products in it. If there weren't any products in that category you would have thought that the 'new products for october' heading wouldn't be there!?

 

I haven't made many ammendments to my shop code, especially none that I would think could create the problem.

Well in the end I installed the Control New Products module for 2.2-MS2 mod which seems to have done the trick.

 

But if I am right I'm not really impressed with OScommerce's handling of categories and contents when there are and are not products within it. Could be better :)
