weight calculation error

i've inserted 2.9 in the weight column for my product, but when i test out an order, it shows 5.9lb as the weight, and the shipping fee is $6 (an amount i did not enter) and someone guide me where went wrong???

 

 

i'm using the zone shipping module and my measuments are all in KG pls advice

at a guess, Id say the weight is being increases by the addition of the tare weight which you may not have changed, and so the shipping is being adjusted to match.

 

The zone module (in fact all of them for that matter in MS2) do not use any specific measure, it can be kilos, pounds, bars of gold = the choice is yours. you will need to change the language file to change lbs to kg.

Because the Tare weight is set at 3?

 

The tare weight is the "extra" you are adding for packing. In other words the box and brown paper will weigh 3 so must be added to the product weight.

 

find the tare weight setting in admin and set it to zero.
