ekahefe Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Hi. Can someone point me in the right direction to edit my privacy policy files? I have found them and I am able to write a small sentence, like "Hi, this is a test" and have it edit correctly. But when I put in my privacy policy into this file, it shows a blank screen. Any suggestions? thanks, erika
♥Vger Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Download the file to edit via FTP e.g. includes/languages/english/privacy.php Take a backup (just in case) Edit the original file you downloaded using a plain text editor like Notepad (not Word or Wordpad - they're not plain text editors). Text Pad or Crimson Editor are free and better than Notepad. Whenever you use an apostrophy in text it must be 'escaped' by a preceeding backslash, as in: Let's = wrong Let\'s = right You can use html and text in these pages. When you have finished editing upload the changed file, and if there's a problem you can restore from the backup you made. Vger
ekahefe Posted October 6, 2005 Author Posted October 6, 2005 I tried that and it did not work. I only had 1 's in the entire document. When I click on the link to privacy policy, it gives me the link ..../catalog/privacy.php Is this the same file as the includes/languages/english/privacy.php ?
ekahefe Posted October 6, 2005 Author Posted October 6, 2005 Ok. I tried to edit my terms of use and that went very well. I am wondering if my privacy file is corrupt. I will try that next.
