dandelion Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Hello to all. We have just changed over to oscommerce, and there for starting from scratch. your honest review on my site!! http://www.mcs-iow.co.uk Items, Pictures, & Details are still being updated. Thanks for your time. There is nothing here to review - What have you done it is totally stock oscommerce. Get rid of the oscommerce icons change the colour scheme with the css remove the What's new here text and replace with your own You don't need the currencies and language boxes if you only have English and Pounds so comment them out // of the code in the right column file Add your text to the information files There is so much to do before you are ready to be reviewed. ♥14steve14 Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 I think you have a shed load of work to do. Best of luck. Change the colour scheme Add some metatag info Add some descriptions to your product info pages Change the buttons Add information to your infomation pages, they are all blank. Add your contact details somewhere Add some product images. Change the title of the site to your companies name Go through the languages files and alter the text from the standard oscommerce text Remove the unwanted boxes Sort out your create account page. Order the address section, and remove the DoB, gender and company boxes Remove the cartoonish oscommerce graphics, or replace then with ones of your own. Add products to every category or remove the empty ones. Boy have you got a lot to do. Once you have done all this read some other posts in this section and do as others are told to do. Then put your site up for review again. REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP
♥peterpil19 Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 Hi, you should only really be adding your store for review once you think it is near completion, otherwise, no-one's going to be realistically able to give you any useful feedback. So far, you have a stock oscommerce site, with only a logo and products making it different from the default. Install some contributions, muck around with stylesheet.css (this controls colours etc of almost everything) and then post here again once you think your site is at a stage where feedback will prove useful. Thanks for your time. I notice you have changed your logo, very nice, its amazing how much more can be achieved using an attractive woman! I often see criticism about stock osc sites, I wonder how this lies with the creators of osc.
