pafranklin
The full error message is: - Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /kunden/homepages/30/d116518341/htdocs/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file. Please would someone be kind enough to advise what I need to do? This is my first day of PHP and OScommerce so please explain in simple terms if at all possible. I'm sure it won't be my last "stupid" question! You will never learn if you don't try. And boy am I trying....!
♥Vger
The file, during the install, has to be able to be written to. After the install it needs to be made 'Read Only'. Depending on the server you are on this 'Read Only' setting could be 644 (favoured by Windows servers) or 444 or 400 (favoured by Apache servers). For someone new to this the best way to set the permissions is via the File Manager in your web hosting control panel (not the osCommerce control panel).
