bigdeals Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Hello All! I have what I hope will be an easy question. I have a site that uses various shipping methods to send products to customers. I absorb the costs of shipping. However, I need to know whether the customers address is a Residential or Business address. I was thinking about adding the question with a drop down box on the /checkout_payment.php page. The problem is that I am unsure how to do this. I would like for the information to be included in the email to me so that I can process the order correctly. Similiar to the way customer comments is included. I am not a php expert but I can do pretty well with direction. Thank you in advance for your help! :P
bigdeals Posted October 4, 2005 Author Posted October 4, 2005 I guess I could add instructions to specify Business or Residential above the comments box, but that would still lead to customers not answering the question. I would prefer to make it as easy as possible for them. In addition, it would be nice if it was a required field. Any ideas? Anyone?
bigdeals Posted October 5, 2005 Author Posted October 5, 2005 I was looking at the shipping zones. Even though shipping will be free for most orders, can I set up a Residential and Business Zone then require customers to select one?
bigdeals Posted October 5, 2005 Author Posted October 5, 2005 It looks like shipping zones are just by state. I don't think this will work.... Anyone have any ideas?
bigdeals Posted October 6, 2005 Author Posted October 6, 2005 Well I am stumped. I would really like to figure this out but I think I am out of ideas. I guess this must be a harder question than I thought! :D I'll keep looking and testing. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. If I figure it out, I will post back here. I know that this must apply to someone besides me. Some shipping companies have different rates depending on whether or not the delivery address is a business. Thanks for any input!
