extra field on order page

Hi

I hope someone can please help.

I have added an extra field (mobile) to customer details . When they create an account they supply mobile number.

It all works well but the number doesnt show on the order page.

I have looked at order.php and added the field there, but all i get on order page is the label with not actual number. Seems to be not getting it from dtabase.

Please help. I am going crazy with this.

we are talking about catalog/includes/classes/order.php?

You have to add the new column in 3 spots, 1 in query and 2 in the arrays.

Does your checkout_process add teh column to the database just fine?

Have you registered the global for the new value? If not, check how it is done for comments in checkout_shipping or payment.

if we are talking about admin, well there you also have to edit the order class for the query and the array. In addition, on the page you are on (be it invoices or orders), the new field needs to eb added to the queries too.

I am just wanting the admin side sorted first.

Where it dosplays adress details on the order page (admin) i want to display all their details (adress plus, mobile , plus webaddress) which are all present in the database.

You ay i have ot edit the order class for querry and array. What do you mean by that. I am only fumbling my way around PHP. To add a field from data base called "mobile"(from cusotmers table), what exactly do i need to add to what files (admin)

admin/includes/classes/order.php

you have to edit the selects in the files you want to use for displaying too.

I'll attach a class order where I have added a field to, to the cc stuff, called checknumber. You will have to do a similar thing.

I hope someone can please help.

I have added an extra field (mobile) to customer details . When they create an account they supply mobile number.

It all works well but the number doesnt show on the order page.

I have looked at order.php and added the field there, but all i get on order page is the label with not actual number. Seems to be not getting it from dtabase.

Please help. I am going crazy with this.

did u find the code where it displays the telephone # itself? use that format.

also, no bumping of posts, forum rules explain if you dont get an answer, reword the question. however i know if you read the code you should be able to figure out what you need done.

Hi Monica,

could you explain what you modified in checkout_process.php? I'm trying something simular here, to get a delivery_telephone on the invoice. But it doesn't work. This is what I did:

1) I've altered the table orders:

ALTER TABLE orders ADD COLUMN delivery_telephone varchar(32) not null AFTER delivery_country;

2) I've changed the contents of the table address_book_formats:

every format includes at the end $cr$telephone.

3) The address_book table has also a new column, called 'entry_telephone'.

4) I've changed order.php and checkout_process.php (see below).

When creating an order, the delivery_telephone shows up when selecting an address from the address book.

However, at the order_confirmation stage, the addresses are without telephones, neither do they in the invoice.

Checking the orders table, the delivery_telephone column is empty.

What did I do wrong? please help, kind regards peter

Hi Peter,

I checked the code but I cannot see a problem on the first glance ... you'd need to go through it step by step and echo the values from the second you create that new address. Does the address book table contain the new telephone value? that is crucial.

Hi Peter,

checkout_process fills it from the values of the order class. You'll need to check first if the order class really got the value written to session.

Hi Monika,

I've looked and looked but could not find it, so I did a rollback of all the changes and decided to use the company-field as a pseudo telephone-field and changed a language file so the text 'company' said 'telephone'.

The files I rollled back were:

address_book.php, address_book_process.php, address_book_details.php, checkout_process.php, general.php, orders.php and I also rolled back changes I made to the tables 'address_book' and 'address_format'.
