Guest Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 I'm moving a live OSC site to a new server (new host as well), and wanted to take this opportunity to upgrade this client from (I think) 2.0 to the latest OSC release. I have a number of reasons for wanting to do this (one being new features, the other being newer contribution compatabiity). Yes, I understand that I'll lose all my customization (that's ok, I can do it again - and some of the new contributions are better than my own hack and slash techniques). Is there a 'published' easy way to accomplish this? I already applied the upgrade (for the database) contained in the latest release and the new site appears to function correctly -- but I just wanted somebody else here that has done an upgrade to assure me that there is nothing important that I am or might be missing. I do not want some unforseen (by me) issue popping up two weeks down the road when the new site is already live and processing orders. Have any of you upgrades a site from 2.0 to the latest and if so are there any issues you'd like to share to save me some time and hair pulling? :) One thing I have noticed is if you add a new product and don't include an image the old method of simply using an image renamed to "array" in /images/ as your "no image available" substitute no longer works. Is there a new kludge for this that I don't see anywhere in the support forums? (The search function here is absolutely terrible, the decision to ignore words with 4 or fewer letters is beyond comprehension... but that's another matter). TIA.
