gadgit Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Hi first post ,so hi to all, Has any one else had trouble with there hosting company refusing to host osscomerce, when using a shared server. In fact they said that i should inform them(osscomerce) that they should state, that the requirement is not just to run PHP 4.1! or am i missing something? The problem started when i was installing the package and got an error message, as i was new to this i requested their help and they said "no can do" without going to a dedicated server. Is this correct, or am i just being sold another upgrade
Wendy James Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Lots of people host on shared servers. Not sure what their reasoning would be behind not allowing you to host it. Wendy James Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.

I thought that was the case, the problem seems to be with the "register_globals must be ON in PHP" they say that this is a huge scurity risk that they will not accept. Any one know of a way around this.
