Hi first post ,so hi to all,

Has any one else had trouble with there hosting company refusing to host osscomerce, when using a shared server. In fact they said that i should inform them(osscomerce) that they should state, that the requirement is not just to run PHP 4.1! or am i missing something?

The problem started when i was installing the package and got an error message, as i was new to this i requested their help and they said "no can do" without going to a dedicated server. Is this correct, or am i just being sold another upgrade

Lots of people host on shared servers. Not sure what their reasoning would be behind not allowing you to host it.

I thought that was the case, the problem seems to be with the "register_globals must be ON in PHP" they say that this is a huge scurity risk that they will not accept. Any one know of a way around this.
