My problem is that i sell beds,

example is a bed that has upto 8 sizes 2'6, 3', 4', 4'6, 5' & 6' (plus zip n link) it comes in either a firm or soft feel and either platform top or sprung edge and can have upto 6 different drawer options...

how the hell do i display it all ?

any suggestions most welcome

i would like a price updating display type that works - couldn't find one

i would ideally like to show it in tabs, each size attribute gives it a tab ie, single | double | kingsize etc. etc.

under each tabs shows a list (or drop down with price modifier) of drawer options then a drop down for either base type (price effecting) or mattress type (non-price effecting) or both.

I know this would be a full blown contribution in itself, i dont know php, i am mad enough to edit it etc. but have no idea where to start on something like this.

Anyone fancy a little project ! huh? anyone ????

Thanks for reading this far !

You don't! You'll have to break it all up into types, then into sizes etc.

how do you break it up and still make it easy to use?

If someone finds the bed they want they just want to pick th esize etc. not go searching for the option they want

maybe i am not following what you mean ?

A simple price modifier would work a treat to be honest but i am having real probs finding any help to get one to work !

Cheers

you can see what i am wanting to re-create here - http://www.shop4beds.co.uk/productpages/du...elestedivan.php

like i said, a dynamic price updating jobby would work, not what we want, but it would be accepatable !

why not use the product attributes section in osc admin section, so that you can have your bed, then make an option for bed sizes, the the options values would be 2'6, 3', 4', 4'6, 5' & 6' -- you can also make it so that the price updates dynamically .. for example

2'6 bed (+0.00) - total - 100.00

3' bed (+10.00) - total - 110.00

the problem your gonna have is if a 3' bed is 110 with a steel frame, then 120.00 with wooden (for example), you can only attach one price to each additional option

i hope you understand what i mean ...

Using Products Attributes when there are 192 versions of the same product is not really an option. Imagine trying to set all that up, and then having just one product listed on the whole website with a drop-down Products Attibutes box a mile long.

The way to do it would be to have one Category for Wooden Framed Beds, then another for Iron Framed Beds, and then further divide that with sub-categories in different sizes or colours etc.

I am splitting it up into categories !

A divan bed called the red seal from slumberland is available in

two base options:

Platform Top

Sprung Edge [ + ?50 ]

five sizes:

2'6

3' [ + ?50 ]

4' [ + ?100 ]

4'6 [ + ?150 ]

5' [ + ?200 ]

and has 4 drawer options:

non-storage

2 drawers [ +?50 ]

4 drawers [ + ?100 ]

4 drawer continental [ + ?100 ]

the standard price for a 2'6 platform top nonstorage would be ?200 (nb; all prices for example only!)

And this is a fairly simple one! some have more sizes, drawer options and some extra options which don't alter price.

A working site is at www.shop4beds.co.uk which is what i am wanting to update with oscommerce

having a drop-down list for sizes, another for drawers is quite acceptable, however, i would need a dynamic updating price displayed for ease of use for our customers - i have yet to find support for any of the contributions for price updating scripts - none seem to work !

I hope this clears up what attributes i need to use.

Thanks for your ideas so-far.

take a look at the above example and you will see this ONE bed gives TWO HUNDRED various options
