keltic Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 I am trying to install menutab version 1.0b and I am up to the point of "installing the sql file called menu_tab.sql". How do I actually go about doing this ? Do I create an SQL database in Cpanel ? If I create the SQL database in Cpanel, where do I upload the unzipped menu_tab.sql file to from the contribution files ?

If you have CPanel, then you most likely have something called PHPMyAdmin. If you use this application, you can administer your database. It allows you to run SQL statements, among other things. I don't know what menu_tab.sql is - I assume you're trying to install a contribution. Contributions Discount Coupon Codes Donations
keltic Posted September 30, 2005 Author Posted September 30, 2005 Yes I'm trying to install menutab version 1.0b. I have been into PHPmyAdmin and it's as clear as mud.... The menu_tab.sql file came with the contribution and installation instructions just say 'install...' My problem is... Do I first create a database called menu_tab.sql ? Do I then import this file using PHPmyAdmin ? or what ?
kgt Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 In PHPMyAdmin, you want to make sure you're using your OSCommerce database. In most shared hosting environments, this will be your only database, so that'll automatically be the one you're using. Along the top in the center frame, you should see a tab labeled "SQL". Click on this tab to open a page with a text box. You want to paste the contents of the menu_tab.sql into this text box and click "Go." Make sure you have backed up your database before you ever make any changes to it. You can do this in OSC admin. Contributions Discount Coupon Codes Donations
