videoquest Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 Anyone know of any software that easily makes really great database driven websites? I want to make a videogame website but the problem is I am not that great at HTML. Oscommerce is easy to use but I was wondering if I can use it, but not choose to sell products, just show them Any suggestions??
Jack_mcs Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 You can remove the Add to Cart link. That will prevent anyine from purchasing the item. You may also want to remove the price and the Cart Contents link. Wendy James Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 There are many options out there, as far as free database driven websites. Is osCommerce right for you? All depends on what you want your site to do. Show sites without selling? Yes, you can do that. There are contributions that will remove the shopping cart and add to cart buttons and without those visitors will not be able to "check out" anything. You can go further and remove other things but this will take some editing on your part. We are not suposed to discuss other specific systems on these forums, but if you do a search for content management systems you can find many options. You can download it for free, just use the Google to find the site. It's not a shopping system like osC but just a free Content Management System.

That way you will have an awesome looking web site. Good luck.
videoquest Posted September 30, 2005 Author Posted September 30, 2005 Ok thanks for all the tips. Now is anyone willing to help out a rookie! I'll buy the template I just need someone to setup the database for me!
