Guest Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 I'm curious have you indentified what process on your server is slowing things down? How are you troubleshooting this problem? You should detail your question a little more please. Tim
kgt Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 Basically, there are two different areas that can cause a slow-loading page: 1. Server-side processing lag - you have this problem, your page takes somewhere near 4-5 seconds to process. 2. Transfer lag (speed of transfer from your webserver to the client browser) - you have this problem as well. (The Wireless Broadband image is 82 K. For a GIF!) Your top bar has a dropdown menu for categories and for manufacturers. Then you have the left column which has basically the same thing. You're not running the categories queries TWICE to create the dropdown and the list, right? That will kill you in speed, as building that list is pretty expensive.
