JoeWoodworker Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 Very frequently, our customers will enter their credit card information into the payment page and accidentally scroll the payment radio button to "money order" when trying to scroll to the bottom of the page. If they do this, and check out, the credit card information is never sent to me. Obviously, using the money order option deletes any input into credit card form boxes. I've had my share of disappointed customers who said that they unmistakably entered CC info at checkout but didnt realize they selected "money order" as payment type. This creates confusion and worry. Is there any way to get OSC to sent the CC data (number and expiration) even if the customer clicks on the money order button by mistake? JoeWoodworker Posted October 1, 2005 Author Posted October 1, 2005 Bump! Any suggestions? Evil will always triumph over good... Because good is dumb. - D.H.
knifeman Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 I had this problem also from a few customers. I don't know how they changed from credit card to money order though. They were all adamant that they filled out the credit card section. Most got mad and left. So I put money order option above the credit card option and then make the credit card radio button checked by default. Tim
JoeWoodworker Posted October 2, 2005 Author Posted October 2, 2005 That's a great idea. How did you go about reversing the order and defaulting the CC button? Evil will always triumph over good... Because good is dumb. - D.H.
AlanR Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 That's a great idea. How did you go about reversing the order and defaulting the CC button? To change the order go into Admin -> Payment and set the Sort Order. You can make COD 1 and Credit Card 2. Then COD will be at the top. For defaulting CC see this thread: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=172110 Local: Mac OS X 10.5.8 - Apache 2.2/php 5.3.0/MySQL 5.4.10 • Web Servers: Linux Tools: BBEdit, Coda, Versions (Subversion), Sequel Pro (db management)
JoeWoodworker Posted October 2, 2005 Author Posted October 2, 2005 I have a pre-milestone installation that doesnt allow sorting of the payments. I'm wondering if they are just in alphabetical order on the payments page. If so, perhaps I could rename "money order" to "amoney order" and just change the font color to for the "a" to white so it appears invisible on the screen. Or better yet, maybe I can change the php to display the payment list backwards (opposite of alphabetical). Not sure how to do that though. I'll mess with it and see. JoeWoodworker Posted October 6, 2005 Author Posted October 6, 2005 Well... no luck. Does any one have coding for the payments.php file that would reverse the order that payment options are shown? (again this is for CVS2.2 : premilestone release) Evil will always triumph over good... Because good is dumb. - D.H.
