catogories & images Questions (Please can someone help me?)

I'm in the process of delevolping my site however I have two major problems - Ive searched the forums and dont seem to be able to find the answers i desperately need - Can anyone please help?

 

1) i need to have subcatogories under a heading is this possible?

ie

- Main Catogory (page with info on it)

--- Subcatogory (page with products)

 

2) How can i or even can I size images in products so that i can have potrait and lanscape sizes - at the momnet its formatted in one squarish size but it distorts both portrait and lanscape images?

 

I hope someone can give me some advice

What i did was i just added 4 main catogories and then sub catogories under those.

 

Might be a option. But i am sure what you want to do is that and no way around that.

 

I will keep watching this post, cos it might be very helpfull for me as well.

In reply can I ask - Do you have text on your main catories page or does it have products on it too?

 

Ideally i need about 6 main catogories pages each with subcatogories that can then have products in (does that make sense?)

Yes it does,

 

Just add 6 main cats, then add all your other cats under them,

 

Thats what i did, and i have 5 main cats.
