stacey72702 Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 I was trying to secure my admin folder with .htaccess and .htpasswd. However, when the user name and password entry box would appear, a user name that I did not create was the only available user name to choose from. When I entered the user name and password that I indicated in the .htpasswd file, it would not accept. The user name that appears is for a domain that was recently registered (according to the information when I entered the address). Could someone have accessed my files without my knowledge, and if so, how do I remove that access? Thanks for your help.

I did delete and recreate the htaccess, and had no change. I had trouble installing OSC and had to have one of the techs from my host help me. I don't know if there is something somewhere else that is causing the problem... In order to secure my admin folder, I did change the name, which makes it work.
