Tax Question: not sure if this is a Tax or Easy Populate question so I posted in general support

Hi. I'm having some problems/confusion with tax prices.

 

When I create an EP file and set a product to 'taxable goods', the price I have in that file goes into Products Price (Gross) in the product dbase, and then it backwards calculates the Products Price (Net). Am I supposed to put the price including tax in my EP file? That seems weird.

 

For example: I have item XYZ in my file which I wat to sell for $146 so I put that in 'v_products_price'. It is taxable so I put Taxable Goods in the 'v_tax_class_title' EP field.

 

But when I upload the file the price in my store shows as $136.45 (which is what the price would be before adding 7% tax, it automatically calculated that somehow based on the 1 tax class that I have). But I want the price to be $146, and then if a customer is in a particular state the tax would be added to that $146 at checkout.

 

If I go into admin and set 'Display Prices with Tax' to true, then it shows $146, but that includes the tax, whereas it should be $146 + tax.

 

How can I get the price I want to sell for (without tax) to show appropriately using EP?
