What are the cookies for?

I would like to include a section in my privacy policy on cookies. Does osCommerce us cookies and, if so, what purpose do they serve?

Cookies are used to differentiate clients/visitors of your web site. Its sort of memory if you like. So osc uses session cookies such that moving from one page to another it is remembered by the system for the same client. Useful for differentiating customers baskets too.
