FTP to your website and rename the 'catalog' folder. Then edit all references to /catalog/ in both configure.php files to read /shop/

Hi All.

I've been working on a new osCommerce setup for a few weeks and am really impressed with its capabilities, AND the incredible info resource in these forums - thanks to everyone for all the anonymous help so far!

This should be a pretty simple question (and hopefully with a simple fix).

My osCommerce installation was done automatically from my service provider. I selected a directory name for the installation as 'shop', but the auto install then dumped everything into a series of sub-directories under 'shop'. So, my main store page is now at http://myurl/shop/nfosscomm/catalog/index.php.

This works fine, but makes the address bar look a little cluttered and not as robust as I'd like.

Is there anyway to easily trasnfer my installation from the /myurl/shop/nfosscomm/catalog/... back to /myurl/shop?

I did try moving all directories and files to the appropriate spots, but of course there seem to be numerous path references on the various osCommerce modules. Is there an automated way to change those references, or is there a resource someplace pointing to all the references that would need to change?

Thanks in advance,

Dave...

HI...Please I have a similar problem. Maybe this is a stupid question, though; but I don't know the answer.

1) We built the osC db in a subdomain i.e., test.mydomain.xyz

2) We expected to copy it to a different secure server, but now know we can leave it on the same server and only apply the SSL certificate to the subdomain of secure.mydomain.xyz

3) Today we got an ipsCA SSL certificate installed for secure.mydomain.xyz

4) Now our mainpage displays in FireFox at secure.mydomain.xyz but all other pages at test.mydomain.xyz.

In IE, the mainpage appears but only the html in the middle, all other osC bars&graphics are gone. Inside pages show as test.mydomain.xyz

Question please:

Is it possible to rename the entire db from test.mydomain.xyz to secure.mydomain.xyz, somehow?

Our provider set the linux/apache for secure.mydomain.xyz has DOCUMENT_ROOT in catalog directory of test.mydomain.xyz?

Many Thanks...
