Per item shipping is mis calculating?

Hi,

 

I've turned off flat rate shipping and switched on per item shipping at ?2.50 per item. However if I only have 1 item in my basket it's saying shipping is ?5.00, 2 items is ?7.50, 3 items is ?10.00 and so on. Don't really understand why this might be, any ideas?

Look in your osC admin panel for Tare Weight. This is a weight assigned to the packaging of the item and is set by default to 3 (that can be 3lbs or 3kilos whatever your unit of measurement is).

 

It looks as though Tare Weight is being applied to each itme and your Shipping is set to charge for packaging.

I just found tare weight in shipping/packaging under configuration and changed it to 0 but it had no effect - any other ideas?

 

Basically it's adding 1 too many lots of postage. For a 1 item order it's putting in packaging for 2 items, for 2 it's putting in 3 and so on.
