Moving Login Box to shopping cart

Hi,

 

I am trying to make a box at the start of my shopping cart where customers can either login, or create an account.

 

At the moment, I still have the standard:

 

Welcome guest! Would you like to log yourself in or create an account.

 

Currently, when I click on 'create an account', it sends me to a link with the yahoo error page (Page cannot be found). Do I have to activate something for this link to work?

 

I don't know what file to edit, or what text I should change. If anyone can set me in the right direction I would be very grateful.
