As far as I know its not possible to run oscommerce in a frame as the menu links are controlled via a seperate page..

I guess you could hack it and prob get it to work but in my opinion not worth the effort.. framed sites went out with the dinosaurs and look awful is most respects.

The biggest problem you'll have putting osC in frames, or in an iframe, is that it's very difficult to dynamically generate the meta title based on the content of the page. This will make it hard to rank very well on your product, and category pages.

If you take a look at the header.php, footer.php, column_left.php and column_right.php, you'll see that you can insert your own HTML there, outside of the php braces, to pretty much do anything you want as far a customization goes. In fact, sometimes I delete the entire contents of the header.php and put in my own. Keep in mind that you'll need to go through the tep_href_link function in order to keep sessions intact, but if you take a close look at how its done in the header already, it should be hard for you to figure out.

NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit.

If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help.

Frame based websites will get you zero rankings with search engines.

Thanks Chris and Vger and sorry about the late reply It was an idea that I was working on .

As I find Oscommerce very business like and I wanted to change a few things so that visitors and customers can input there interests including a photos , storys , forum, in my domain but not showing up as links outside of the oscommerce store or as a target="_blank" links.

I have also run a check with search engines anylizer And I see what you mean about getting zero

even with mets title, key, and discriptions tags every files shows up as zero.
