James Argo Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Hi... it's my first post :) I appologize for the nature of the questions. Newbie on the board  I'm running PHPTriad 2.2.1 on my WinXP Home Edition machine. Then I installed osCommerce. I followed the instruction on the install text. Copy the "catalog" folder into C:\apache\htdocs\ I import the oscommerce.sql file using PHPmyAdmin, and it's succesfully imported. I set all privilages for my username & password. So... I begin the installation. First problem on step 2: Access denied for user: 'James Argo@localhost' (Using password: YES) Hmmm... It's strange because I actualy set my user & password with all privilages in any host (%) on the MySQL. The problem solved when I change my privilages to localhost only (not anyhost - %)... Why? :( Then I continue the installation. Everything runs fine until I reach install.php?step=7 page, with 2 buttons, namely Catalog and Administration tool. Second problem on step 7: If I click on Catalog button, then appear: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /catalog/install/:///index.php on this server. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apache/1.3.23 Server at localhost Port 80 If I click on Administration tool button, then appear: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /catalog/install/:///admin/index.php on this server. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apache/1.3.23 Server at localhost Port 80 Now... I'm stuck... :-" Can somebody point me the right dirrection here? I'd be gratefull then... B) Thanks alot! ;) Jaymz
James Argo Posted September 26, 2005 Author Posted September 26, 2005 :-" Ok, for problem 2 (step=7), I must have missed to set the www. server to http://localhost/catalog on step=4  Now it runs... Still I don't understand the problem no 1 (why do I need to set my privilage to "localhost" instead of "any host" in MySQL users page?) Please enlight me... :) ;) Jaymz
