I am a newbie trying to get OScommerce up and running but I am getting problems. I have uploaded all files to my server at b-one.net and done the permissions thing and when I key in http://www.my-domain.com/install.

I get this error message

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /install/ on this server.

Your help would be greatly appreciated

how did you upload the osC and where to?

I assume you unzipped it locally and uploaded it by ftp.

now, did you upload to the webrroot ?

than it should work like my-domain.com/install or try my-domain.com/install/index.php

if you uploaded the catalog folder, than try my-domain.com/catalog/install/index.php

I did unstuffed locally

I uploaded files within the catalog folder to my domain where the directory has a / and it lists these files within directory as:

_vti_bin

_vti_cnf

_vti__inf,html

_vti_log

_vti_pvt

_vti_txt

what is the webroot (is this the same as where I have placed my files)

I will try my-domain.com/catalog/install/index.php as instructed later

thanks

You have FrontPage extensions installed. They will interfere with osCommerce so you need to get your web hosting company to uninstall the FrontPage extensions on your domain. After that has been done you need to delete all folders/sub-folders with 'vti' in the name and delete any .htaccess files (which will have been overwritten by FrontPage).
